| It was such an emotion provoking moment to watch the president walk down the aisle in preparing to give the State of the Union amidst so much joviality among our members of government ... the very same government who has sent so many of our men and women to their deaths or to lives which have been shattered and broken because an administration and a government had to rush into a war in such a cavalier way and then have left so many of our veterans and military behind. The President claims that this country must learn to spend the money wisely yet he squanders the money on a war of choice with ill equipped troops and now launches plans much too little, much too late, resulting in too much pain grief and loss for so few in this nation. He also claimed that this government must care for the future generations yet due to the fact that this administration and government refuse to pay as you go - he is leaving a legacy for our children - those who have survived his folly - and their children, of debt. The president also failed to identify the erosion of this country's foundation of freedoms from within - using fear, the very strengths of the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution has been compromised under the repeated phrase of " national security ". This administration has tried to ignore the checks and balances as created by our forefathers - this erodes the foundation of this country. He wants to establish an imposed " democracy " in the Middle East yet at what costs to our own country The president speaks of all the Iraqi who turned out for the election but how many of them are still breathing. The president speaks of the new strategy - again Bush's Folly which will only cost more lives of our loved ones and add more broken and shattered hearts to our ranks which are already overcrowded. This administration and government have created this chaotic uncontrolled Iraqi world and then appeals to all that we can't allow it to fail. He states that all must support the troops there and who are on the way. We can't recall that he ever has called for those to support the troops upon their return home. Where has there been increased funding for the troops suffering from those hidden wounds PTSD? Why did Congress reject a $80 million appropriation for PTSD treatment last summer? Why did not the administration intervene and support it ... even though it would have only been a drop in the bucket! THIS IS A SHAMEFUL DISGRACE for, because of this administration's and government's lack of caring and attention - this nation has allowed deaths and destroyed lives of those who have answered this country's call to arms! Where has been the planning for our loved ones' care upon their return when this administration was rushing into war in such a cavalier way? We have become wearied and tired of listening to all these words from this administration who have proven themselves incapable of serving this country as a whole. They serve their own agenda. Congress must now take the lead and act as this country has in the past.... to care for our own and especially for those who have answered this country's call to arms... and to take this country back with honor to being the leader among the nations. This administration has abdicated many of its' duties and responsibilities to its' own citizens... especially the troops and the veterans. Kevin & Joyce Lucey, the proud parents of Cpl.
