These troops are truly real people with lives, dreams, families and cherished ones When a troop or soldier is killed or wounded - it is not just a number or statistic - there is a child with dreams and hopes for the future; there is a son or daughter around whom so many dreams surround; there is the young man or woman who has accomplished much yet has so much more to do; there is the brother or sister upon whom the others have come to rely on; there is the school mate with whom many adventures have been experienced and whose encouragement you have come to expect; there is the one you love with whom you would have journied the many paths of life; there is the Daddy or Mommy who would held their little treasure chest of dreams and hopes in their laps; there would have been the grandparents who would have spoiled their children's children and would have given them memories ... where along the chain will the past end and the future would be no more; when the potential of what could have been will never be .... From some, we hear of policies, of surges, of nobility and cause we rarely hear the anguished cries and sobs - the mournful grief - we only hear that seven troops were killed today.
